Hi peeps , purchased an 05 wrx this week, checked for signs or sludge etc and nothkng , no smoke etc so purchased car, drove it home a couple hundred miles , checked all fluids and noticed water emptied in res chamber topped up, went for asmall drive down to shops checked againand used about inch, topped up and took for a blast last night , used the whole lot, now I can't see a leak there's no smoke or slushy white craps, any ideas ? Car is 05 wrx with 73k

Also no steamanywhere so rather confused , can't see being head gasket as no white sludge or smokeing anywhere

i had similar thing to you after i bought mine - the radiator was cracked and weeping - but was very hard to see without taking the rad out.

as above check pipe, rad for cracks and after that get a sniff test done

Brilliant, any ideas on cost of that ? A will check at weekend for leaks and if can't find any book in for that

differetn car but same thing

Had a quick trip to a local garage after work tonight and the put a pressure tester on one of the tanks and did a pressure test, seems to dropslowly in pressure but couldn't find any water leeks anywhere , checked hoses, radiator and every were really but couldn't find any signs of leaking , any ideas ?

No that's being done next week hopefully booking it tomoz but thus garege did a pressure test on header tank to see ifany water leaks

Will it fell me if just the heads gone or if there's any leaks in pipes etc

It will tell you if there are combustion gasses in the coolant
