Default Cold start issues...

Decided to start a new thread on this.

Basically my car is still having difficulty on cold starts.

The issue is intermittent, sometimes it will start perfectly.

When it struggles to start I have to tap on the accel pedal to get it to catch, then when it does fire it comes on a tiny bit lumpy, before levelling out.

I also noticed that when cold, if I press on the clutch and allow the car to coast, the revs really drop off almost to the point of stalling - although it never actually stalls.
Once warm the car is fine

***running mafless***

So far I have replaced

02 sensor
Coil packs
Coolant Temp Sensor
Fuel Pump - Walboro
Crank Sensor
PCV Valve
Plugs where new about 6 months ago - pfr7b's
Map looked at twice now

Anything else to try?

It has been mentioned that a leaky injector could be the culprit, especially if they are re-flowed.

The injectors I have on there are Deatchworks 740cc - anyone know if these are reflowed 440's? They look identical.

I had a similar intermittent fault on my v3,I noticed the temps on the ecu logs were all over the place. I know you have changed coolant temp sensor but are you aware that there are 2 ? One for the gauge single wire and one for ecu, mine was the faulty 2 wire ecu one.

I don't think the temp gauge sensor would cause running issues but if that's the one you have changed instead of the ecu sensor then worth changing.

If you're mafless you will have fitted a intake temp sensor, have you checked this?

As far as I'm aware there is no intake temp sensor?

When I first got ESL mapped I was given the option to go mafless which I did. The trumpet I have on there removes the maf, but there is no sensor

Do I need one then? Mapper didn't advise about this?

I never got as far as going mafless with mine,I was just going by what he ESL manual says about using IAT sensor. I'm sure your mapper knows what he is doing so maybe it's not needed?
The ESL manual is available for download on their site so might be worth having a look at the mafless section.

Coolant temp has a "sensor" and the gauge has a "sender".

I think I can rule out the CTS as the problem.

Does anyone know if Deatchworks 740cc injectors are reflowed 440's?

Trying to establish if its worth changing to another set of injectors.

Cars going in to SW Autos tomorrow to have gearbox fitted and load of other stuff, I might get them to check if the injectors are seated correctly, then again if that was the case wouldn't the problem be more permanent?
