The car has been in bits but is now coming up with P2021 (intake manifold runner position sensor/switch circuit low bank 2a)

I'm wondering if this sensor needs to be mounted with the plug pointing to the left and then rotate the the sensor 180 before rebolting it up?
Could this be a likely cause for this code?

The engine sounds okay at idle but sounds like it's missing a little when revved and won't go over 3250rpm (limp mode?)

Be less hassle to change the sensor. its the same as a throttle position sensor as they are a bit cheaper

I repostioned the sensor the way I thought it might need to go and that fixed the cel.
