Default hawkeye HDI Gt2 Pro FMIC Pictures

Hi,

Has anybody fitted a HDI GT2 pro FMIC to their hawkeye and if they have do they have any photos they would be prepared to share?

I've just ordered one and I'm trying to work out the induction kit piping for an engine bay kit. Looking at a RCM 80mm housing and filter if possible but not sure how it would fit.

I know the GT2 comes with a CAI pipe but wondered about what I would need to fit inside the engine bay to enable me to get a bigger filter. It was always the recommendation of (the late and great) Harvey instead of the cold air feed where the size is restricted.

Thanks!

Where did you get the larger maf tube from and is it in the same position? I was hoping to get the rcm 80mm tube but not sure what angle the short ram kit needs to be located to fit.

Do you know anyone else who can make the flange adaptor. I had a feeling you were gonna say Harvey (RIP) as he did alot of these by the looks of it.

Perrin USA , , yes it's standard location
K&n do a whole range of universal fitment cone / cylinder/ trumpet filters in there range
There is a guy makes & sells flanges on here / sorry I don't , can't remember his user name ( maybe some one can jump in & help ?)
Try using the search , see if it brings a thread up

Think you might have to modify the intercooler pipework that comes up on the left hand side ! I run I perrin filter in same position to the picture above and also want a bigger cone filter ! Api did a hawk a while ago and I believe had to cut and reshape and weld pipework to lower the position it Comes through at in order to stick a bigger filter in !

Thanks for the reply guys.

Thats slightly worrying in that they had to modify some of the pipework to fit a cone filter. The Cold Air Pipe they send is apparently also tight on space so nervous now about what the end result will be.

I've emailed Olly at RCM to see what he suggests, but sounds like a large MAF housing and cone filter is going to prove difficult.

Has anyone else got a hawkeye and installed a HDI FMIC? It would be interesting to see if they had similar problems?

On a note ( that cylinder filter draws in plenty air & is approx 3" longer than the Perrin filter supply'd with the short ram / the largest come filters would be difficult as above an elbow would also be required .. I have tried a cone in the same position as above slightly larger so the tip fitted nicely through the inner wing ... I didn't like the look so reverted ( after trying several , the cylinder works & looks best for my requirement ,, it also has a filter net over it now so very happy with it
Good luck with your future plans

Thanks again for all the advice Jazzy.

Do you mind if I ask what power your running with the setup now and what you were running with the normal maf tube from HDI?
