Default Wont start

My 05 Jdm Sti wouldn,t start this evening. The engine wouldn,t turn over, and the lights dont go on. The radio works fine, and the 3 gauges in my centre pod light up as usual. The 2 gauges in my A pillar pod dont work. Can someone help please. Thanks Steve.

Battery a couple of weeks old. When my old battery went flat the radio wouldn,t come on, and non of the gauges would work. The 3 centre pod gauges are still working ok, ( they are fed from the cigarette lighter circuit). The headlights aren,t coming on, although the battery is charged. Steve.

Whats getting me is why some of my gauges work when ignition turned on and some dont. The headlights dont even come on yet the interior light and radio work as normal. Steve.

That doesn,t explain why my radio and some gauges work ok. Steve.

Could well do as those accessories have smaller earth points than the main ones for high load , such as a starter

Of course, could just be a starter on the way out.

Dont know. You may find that when you get the starting issue sorted. the lighting one may disappear too. Id get it started first, and then focus on the light problem. im not an auto electrician but hopefully Alcazar may pop by and give you his take on it

You say you checked all fuses? On the classics , theres another set of fuses located in the dash. Dont know if your model has one to?

I,ve only used the car a few times in the last couple of months as I,ve been trying to keep mileage down. Bought a Solar charger which plugs into diagnostic socket, but it wouldn,t charge battery this way, so wired direct to battery using crocodile clips. Charged battery fully using conventional charger and used car yesterday and this morning with no probs. Just wouldn,t start this evening. Steve.

During my dinner break I checked the battery which was good, engine fuse box and the fuse box under the coin tray inside the car. All the fuses were ok. I spotted a couple of brown relays behind and to the left of the fusebox. I reached through and pushed the relays and you could here a click and the systems energise. So it was just a relay which had worked loose. Thanks to all for your advice. Steve.
