Default Couple of issues with my classic

Hi All

Have got a couple of things that are bothering me with my classic.

First is that when the car is running and the handbrake is on it eems to drain the power. Any ideas??

And Secondly the immobiliser is a bit strange. Sometimes it works fine and other times it wont arm/disarm, it seems to be in certain places. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance
Beckie

Just an idea, but could be cables running though center console. Depends with an after market Immobiliser could have a cut off on the fuel pump at rear.

As said just an idea

God awful things them turbo timers, they're usually rigged up to work from the handbrake so if it's shorting out,not wired in correctly then this could cause you problems. Check the battery with a multimeter,or have it checked to see if it's ok. Does it look really old? Is it sealed or can you check the water level?

Yup for people who can't be bothered to sit in the car for a couple of mins for it to cool down after a blast ,when some car thief walks past, jumps in and takes the handbrake off then the immobiliser cuts in.

I would bin the timer Beckie and see how you get on

Yeah my alarm is a sigma.

Is there anything i can do to get it working? Or will i have to replace it?

I will try taking out the timer and see how it goes.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

just to repeat what Craig5 has said -- if the alarm only fails to work in certain places/car parks, it could be caused by interference from nearby telephone masts....
