Default Missing, sputtering then cutting out

Hi guys I've still got this issue with my car, Start her up drive down the road and she'll mis and then cut out, starting her up is like I'm Out of fuel, Once started the car will sputter and mis, Had a look in Throttle body and found oil in there as well in the intercooler, Anyone know how to do the self cel check?

This is driving me up the wall!!!!any help appreciated, put new Ht leads on, new plugs, MAF is ok,no leaks from any vac pipes, all this happened after putting HKS Dv on, put original Dv back on and reset the Ecu but it's still the same..

Thanks

Should give you more of a clue to what's going on. Could be a number of things but do this CEL check first

Just to add,how do you know the MAF is ok? Is it new(proper oem one) or have you checked it with a meter?
Dump valves are not great, need to be mapped in really as you lose some of the metered air that the ecu is expecting.
Did you reset the ecu the correct way?

Thanks ossett I'll try doing that, Checked the MAF just by unplugging it mate, The car switched off, reset the Ecu by disconnecting the battery for a few hours, the original dv was mapped in, the one I bought after wasn't which is what messed the running of the car.

Unplugging the Maf tells you nothing apart from its unplugged.
I was guessing it was a classic? If it's newage then the CEL check won't work, you will need an OBD reader. If it is a classic which ECU are you running?

I don't think that ecu retains the cars self diognostics mate. One of the many reasons I went ESL. It does sound like a Maf problem,or 02 sensor, like I say unplugging it will tell you nothing,it can be checked with a multimeter, have a search on how to as I can't quite remember and don't want to pass on duff info. Maybe there is a setting where you can read your Maf voltage on the commander?

Ossett just a update, cleaned the MAF sensor it was well dirty, used maf cleaner, drives really good now, but on the odd occasion it misses, so thinking of changing the O2 sensor hopefully that should sort. But what an improvement

Nice one Iqy
Misfires can be caused by a number of things but it sounds like you're getting on top of the problems

Cool mate
Just be carful of cheap ones, they are said to be a total waste of money! Always best to pay a little extra and go for the correct quality oem one. Try icp,the sell a good range of oem stuff.
