Default Impreza Bugeye Remapp Parts

Cars a Bugeye wrx ppp

Ive purchased so far

- Prodrive sports cat downpipe
- Fuel Pump
- K@N Panel Filter
- New Exhaust gaskets

I have a few more questions so the car is ready and the remapp goes smoothly.

1. Do I need to invest in a 3 port boost solenoid, if so can you recommend me one as there is one on scoobyworld for about 95 quid, then cheaper ones on fleabay.

2. Do I need better spark plugs? If so what ones in particular.

3. Am I missing anything else? The car Im hoping to get mapped to 270-280bhp

The remapp cost is expensive so don't want to go there and something holds the car back.

Thanks

You'll be wanting to get rid of the uppipe cat as well if you still have it. STI or classic impreza one will do the job rightly.

No need for the 3port solenoid, the plugs you could go either way - the standard 6's will be grand but go for the 7's if your planning to drive a little harder or do more later on.

Don't forget a healthy supply of decent fuel too and try not to get fixed on a specific figure/horsepower goal as you may end up disappointed.

I thought if it was a wrx ppp, it already had a pro drive cat in the downpipe as part of the upgrade?

That's cool,

I now have a second decat pipe to fit, with my sti intercooler, y pipe, silicone intake, wr sport back box, I could get the prodrive map flashed into my car and have the right/similar spec to take advantage of that map?

yeah pretty much - the PPP map is a little bit overs stock so you'll have better improvement if you get a custom map made up for your car.

Hopefully I could borrow a tactrix cable or meet up with someone and get it flashed for nowt, stop gap til I can get some other bits done before proper mapping.

Its a pretty healthy boost in torque over std.

Thanks for the replies,

I already had the uppipe replaced and cat removed.

I was reading some forums where guys were saying their 2 port boost solenoids were holding back the map.

Anything I should be doing before spending £400+ on the remapp?

if your spending 400+ on your remap then you should fone your mapper and ask "what do I need to do before my map". They shouldn't have any issue in telling you their preferred requirements for a particular tuning stage.

Sometimes the 2port can hold you back, but generally I've been able to change the restricter pill (roadside fix, 1 hose/2 minutes) and carry on with the mapping. Your mappy may have additional restrictor pills or another solenoid on standby for these types of eventualities.

Manford - if you can pickup or borrow an openport I can help you by email

Hi there

You shouldn't need 3port boost solenoid,TD04 is small one and there you shouldn't need,if you will be going with larger turbo like VF35 or TD05 then I would suggest you to have 3-port which only helps to controlling the boost

Better spark plugs, yes I would say so,I would have look on PFR7B which are mostly used on the cars and we are run them on our wagon at 490bhp

Do you have fully decatted exhaust or is still standard,I would suggest decatted exhaust with STI Up pipe, which is already decatted,I would stay clear from eBay Up pipe which are oversized and only kill the spool

Hope this helps

Thanks,Jura

make sure and use genuine gaskets for fitting the downpipe, otherwise you'll be back in a month to get them done again!
