Default Engine management light?

Hi.

I've started my 04 WRX today to find the yellow engine management light is on. I'vs driven the vehicle and it's perfectly fine with no symptoms at all. Any ideas as to what it could be?

It must be something trivial for it not to affect the performance.

Cheers.

Floydy.

hi as ive only having my first subaru for 3months now i invested in one of those Bluetooth Diagnostic plugs when i bought my scooby and i checked for any
check light history that the ecu might have logged (thankfully there wasn't any logged check lights)
most check lights that ARE logged sometimes have a number or code beside it that identifies the fault. When i had a diesel a few years back that kept throwing a check light...but the car drove fine...found out i had a sticky EGR valve that threw a error code on a cold start but did NOT throw a code while driving .
Try one of those and see what the fault code is or if not take it to a garage for a diagnostic but your looking at £30-60
The diagnostic plug i use cost £10 and the software i use on my galaxy s3 is called 'Scan Master' (free)
im sure theres a mechanic on here that might live close to you that can do a diagnostic...
hope this helps
