If you have the famous boot seized issue.
Hi Everyone,
I had the same issue asother a few people whereby the boot refuses to open properly or even move with the key. I know a lot of people ended up getting another barrel and another key or even new locks all round... Your doing it wrong!
My local autosmith actually rebuilt the lock and pins etc and reinstalled it and it works like a goodun. Cost £30 but its worth it and the price, well much cheaper than most of the options. It only took them 2 hours.
Just hope it helps someone in the sme position.

Mines only just started doing this, probably because I never use the key to open it lol..
Will give it a go over with WD40 inside the barrel to see if that fixes things

When I bought this blob, I tried the boot lock and it was seized, the previous owner never used the key, only the release lever.
I removed the lock and took it to bits, all the parts were oxidized and furry. I had to use a hammer and pin punch to separate the tumblers from the barrel. I used diamond files and a whetstone to clean all the parts up, then coated in CK dry carbon lubricant.
WD40 can be good for freeing things up, but it also leaves a layer that bits/dust can stick to.
£30 is a bargain
