Default Jdm engine differencs

I am getting close to collecting my 2002 sti spec c and after looking round a few places was just wondering what the differences are between a jdm engine and uk sti engine. Also what is the difference between a spec c motor as in internals as I know it has a oil cooler etc but not what is inside it so not sure what I can map it to etc thanks Chris

Ahh rite no problem so are the bottom ends better than the uk spec cars or the same and what boost can you make them to safely.

bottom end is basically the same

we used to run above 1.75BAR on the grpN cars but for road use a solid 1.4/1.5 will see you comfortably within safe levels

It's not made of angel tears as some jdm owners would have you believe.
A car this early is nearly identical.
The later cars like blobs and hawks have more differences but either UK or jdm spec engines Are capable of 450bhp.

No problem thanks gents. Just wondered if there was any differences as you read everywhere that they have stronger jdm engines and have no idea how they are stronger.

generally people are comparing the JDM 2.0 against the Euro 2.5...............

2.0 cars are v.similiar albeit i personally would not run a std one at 400+

I will just be mapping it at first but will possibly look to go to a garret setup when I can and see what happens from there. Thanks for the info
