Default v4 into v2

Hi im currently trying to get hold of another engine to put in my v2 sti after bottom end failure (2nd time!) And have been offered a v4 sti engine. What would need changing to put the v4 engine in? as far as I can make out turbo is different, im guessing ecu and loom too? Any help would be much appreciated!

just use the new long engine with everything else you already have ,

so block and heads from the v4 and inlet and all ancilleries from your V2

Ok... what are the gains going from a v2 setup to v4? (Turbo ecu etc from v4) are the gains worth the cost?

If the bottom end has failed and you have replaced it with another bottom end (regardles of version) it will make the same power once its all back together.

No idea on the turbo you have compared to the turbo that will come with your version 4 package, will depend on the specifics of both cars.

If the object is to get more power a v2 to v4 swap is not a great power for pound upgrade, If you are wanting to use the ECU from the V4 car you will need to do a complete Loom swap including dash and interior. Massive massive work for no real gain.

Use the long engine in the v2 car and once it is running again tune it to make more power.

Currently its a td05 with a change to vf23 why would the dash have to be changed if I was changing the engine loom?

The Version 2 dash uses a cable driven speedo, the V4 loom will use the facelifted clocks and a digital speedo,

the v4 clocks dont fit properly into the early dash and and if you replace the dash , the early doorcards are a different shape and wont let the doors close, so need changed too.

The center console controls are different between dashes also.

the TD05 is the turbo of choice , many would argue a more robust unit than the IHI , can do good numbers with the correct supporting mods
