Mechanic will diagnose whether its the battery or alternator or even something else.

Car has struggled to start. No power. Used jump leads to jump start car which worked fine but after 3 days sat in the garage car experienced same problem so jumped again.

However I went for a blast the same evening and noticed the voltage showing as 13.8v on the gauge where it previously used to show 14.4v and always started first time, all the time.

Now i'm seeing 13.8v on idle and occasionally 13.9. My guess is the battery but will find out on wed hopefully.

any thoughts.

noticed this evening the red alarm light flashing away but looked faded and the red key symbol on the dash flashing which i'm sure normally doesn't. i bet if I tried to start the car now it would struggle.

Could be the alternator tho. Needs the output checking before you splash out on a battery but depends on age ot the battery
