Default Think I might have a bit of a slapper..

Hi all

Looking for some opinions here... I started my car this morning and there was quite a knocking noise from under the bonnet, nothing high pitched more like the sound of a rubber mallet hitting a bit of wood, it only lasted about 4-5 seconds then died down.

The drive to work was spot on no different to normal and after I arrived I popped the bonnet to have another listen and it sounded fine so I'm guessing this is the good ole piston slap?

Oil level seems fine, last service done in August and only done 3,200 miles since then but will be servicing it soon before I get a remap

Can this piston slap cause any issues or is it 'just one of those things'

Did the noise stop when your oil light went out? Piston slap would take longer than a few seconds to stop.

Noise stopped within maximum of 10 seconds no more, will try again in the morning. No oil light came on :-s
