How is it controlled other than the relay? Should it have a constant
12v supply when running or does it change depending on demand or does it use a switched earth. Has anyone given there's a constant 12v supply any damage or harm come to the pump? Cheers

On classics I'm fairly confident that it's just a constant 12v supply when the car is running. There is no controller or ecu control it's just on.

Can't see any issues with powering it directly. But I'm no expert.

Later cars have a fuel controller.

Thanks for your help over the last few days mate it's been spot on I've found the problem with my car my pump primes then it looses it's feed I'm guessing this is why it idles but won't rev up I will look into giving it a constant 12v supply see if it runs as it should
