Default interior track mods.

Im looking to set my car up purely as a track car. I want it to have the full time attack look. Im looking for some ideas on interior race car mods??? . Has anyone got a cool toggle switch/push start setup? And what are they using the switces for primeing the fuel pump a good idea?

You can fit a button if you want but it will be more effort then turning the key... You would still need to turn the key anyway to turn off the steering lock and power everything up. You may also make the car more vulnerable to being stolen as wiring will be easier to identify.

Yeah you could use a switch to prime the fuel by cutting into the wiring if you want to.

For a motorsport setup you need to think about proper cut off switches and extinguisher setups etc. Not worth doing unless you do them properly.

Im building a classic where everything is control via a carbon centre console with toggles. But I'm gutting the entire car and rewiring it to achieve this.

Sounds good. I really like the idea of flicking a few switches and to get that race car feel on track. Ive just fited a dual pillar.60mm gauges one boost and one rpm counter which im goin to link up to a shift light. What you going to use switches for?

If you want to go full on then generally its strip all the interior
Bucket seats
Roll cage
Harness's
Aftermarket wheel
Loose all te door cards
Loose the roof liner
Fit a rear firewall
Switch panel would have a mains cut off
Fire pull
Switches currently Generally are used for map change and als
Could also move all your stalk operations on switches with time and money to require

Defiantly more of a pig to drive

Mines horrible on the road but does exactly what I want on track.

Mine is exactly the same, perfect on track, but on the road makes me want to gouge my ear drums out with rusty spoons and feels like I am some sort of paraplegic after driving it on the hardest setting and getting out

you are wasting your time basically....

If it is a road car and you want it to be comfortable and usable, and able to carry passengers dont bother.

Put a show cage/harness bar and kill everyone in the event of a sudden stop

Put a roll cagein and the same is likely to happen unless wearing a helmet

put bucket seats in, loose adjustability, have to use harnesses etc and becomes a complete faff getting in and out.

So many gauges it is like a disco...

Unless it is a track car dont try and pretend. Unless you are going to do it properly its just going to look ridiculous as it is neither track car or road car.... Too uncomfortable for the road and too slow for track!

It is the truth.... I'm in the process of making my track car horrendous for everyday driving....

It does make me cringe when people put in roll cages with no helmet. Or four point harnesses that are more dangerous then standard seat belts. Or five and six point harnesses but no cage. Or five or six with no head restraining device/support so their neck will snap... It's all or nothing with safety stuff.
