Is it just the 05 onwards rear Lambda that can alter the fueling, the previous ones are just for checks?

Where are you looking down pipe or manifold?

I believe they are in the manifold on a classic.

Yes it should have a lambada.

93-96 pre facelift had the lambda in the manifold, 97 facelift onwards it moved to the downpipe

Without a lambda, the ECU is unable to correct fuelling so relies on defaults. This is not a problem on-boost but will potentially effect emissions, fuel economy, smooth running etc off boost.

Hacking the wires off would suggest the previous owner decided not to replace a failed sensor...but would think that would throw a CEL

Or, this isn't the "actual" lambda but the car is perhaps using an aftermarket exhaust and an old lambda has been used to block a superfluous lambda boss?

Thanks for the replys everyone appreciate it , it's on the downpipe. I was under the car today and didn't notice any wires*coming*of the manifold but I wasn't looking for any, where abouts Isit located?
Would it have been pick up during mapping?
