Hi,

I have found a third hose coming from the bottom of the window washer bottle and the hose wasn't supplying anything, it is blanked off. The other two hoses feed the front and rear windows as expected.

Does anyone know what this third hose or water supply was/is for?

Car is a 2004 Forester XT.

Head light washers?

 

I'd have said that's the one.

 

That's the one. They may have been removed.

 

Maybe the last owner had it to spray the intercooler.

 

This was a thought I had too but there are no spray jets on the front bumper

I don't think a foz XT would have intercooler water spray and even if it did then it would have a separate water tank just like the imprezas.

Yeah but a home made modification.

 

That's the standard hose for headlight washers. So either someone fitted a second hand bottle to the car which came with head light washer and blanked off. Or someone replaced the bumper. As new the headlight washer holes are often not cut. I didn't bother replacing them when I fit a new bumper. If your car has no switch inside for it then it probably never had them. Either way it's headlight washer. If it was intercooler it's a poor DIY attempt.
