Default Engine building advice needed looking for power

Hi guys I've bought myself a blob uk sti which has a bottom end knock
So I will be having the engine out and I guess I will be doing bearing or crank work of some sort.
So I'm a believer of if you replace replace for better I'm trying to be sensible on the budget but room to play if its worth it.

My plan is to stroke the engine out to 2.1 and forge it this will do away with bearing and the possible faulty crank

If there's any recommendations at this stage at gaining extra power such as suggested head work porting so on and so on

Please really open on this I'm new to imprezas and would love some advice from guys in the know.

Also some info in the long run its a track toy that I would like to use on the road if needed but really would like to be in the 500 region this would be for the road and turn the boost down on the track so nothing is melted.

Turbo suggestions welcome to I'm a fan of external waste gates

Please help guys I'm all ears

Thanks Dave

Heads are ok for 500bhp.

With good engine that kind if power can be used on track without any isses.

Do you have 10k £ budget?

Well get few qoutes for forged engine or buy good second hand unit (there is one 2,35 in for sale section).

https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-par...ng-engine.html

500 will cost in the region of 10k+

If you are looking for a reasonably quick turnaround, wms racing on here will do you a part exchange on your engine and a 2.1 will drop straight in, as for turbo combo i can highly recommend a billet gt3076r on the rcm rotated kit with tial 44mm mvr wastegate, not really laggy and will go like a rocket

I'm looking like I sat to try and keep the block that is currently in the car so 2.1 is the best I'm going to get unless I can get a 2.2 cheap enough
And regarding the basic building I can do this but some engine massively benefit from certain mods
