To buy, been offered a VF Turbo but has a crack starting to appear by the housing (usual place), very small crack, should I walk away or will the Turbo ok?

Any advice appreciated.

A lot of vf turbos have small crack on cast exhaust part and the one i had boosted without any issue

If the price is low and there is no shaft play i would go for it.

My vf48 has a crack and still produces great power. Very common and not an issue.

Thanks guys, can't seem to find one without the crack on the housing, the chap says there's no issues with power, thats a good point it can be welded over I guess.

He wants £300 for it?

Thanks

300 is normal rate for vf35s (nothing special cheap:P).....as it is relatively old turbo it is hard to find one withou crack.
If you do weld it it will crack somwhere else so just leave it
