RB5 Manifold Woes
Hi all,
I come seeking some advice!
I have a RB5 prodrive which has been having problems with manifolds. The car has gone through 3 Manifolds in the last two years.
The first manifold cracked (probably due to age) and the second manifold also cracked. The second manifold was a second hand custom manifold that looked good as far as my eye could tell.
The garage have struggled to seal the new manifold and consequently it has leaked a few times with the garage fixing it temporarily each time. The garage are now recommending a new standard manifold.
The current manifold is a; http://www.japspeed.co.uk/subaru-imp...-manifold.html
The garage tells me this doesn't fit well with the car. Now forgive me as I know little about mechanics (feel free to laugh loudly if I say something nonsensical!) but Japspeed tell me this fits all standard cars. The car has a fully forged engine and has been rebuilt (I'm not sure if that would make any difference at all).
My question is for what reason would there by why this manifold wouldn't fit my car? In addition to this I don't mind buying a new manifold but I'm concerned that if this manifold with standard fitting doesn't seal properly would a new genuine Subaru part also suffer the same issues?
Any help/mockery would be gratefully received!

The forging goodness is all inside so the outer engine casing is the same as standard, best case scenario where the manifold bolts to the block it may be warped maybe your mechanic should of checked this as you've been having problems, worst case somehow the inlet ports on engine are warped dono how this would happen or if even possible, for a bodge temporary fix try getting the gaskets doubled up, get your mechanic to check the surfaces just incase before you buy anything else

Thanks chaps!
What is approximately the maximum power the standard manifold can take?
Also any helpful recommendations where I can get a standard one?
Thanks
