Default Big problem....

Hi all
So I have been a impreza owner for going on 5 days..
When I picked the car up it pulled nicely all the way to..... Well let's just so it pulled all the way! The drive home was about 100 miles
I didn't get to drive it on day 2 but on day 3 I had to drive it about 80 miles and I noticed that it didn't seem as fast as when I drove it the 1st time. So I drove it again on day 4 about 3 miles and it seemed even slower.....
Today, day 5. I took the car the get washed and on the way back I floored it a few times and around the 3rd time the turbo seemed to stop working. I had no turbo feel, the car seemed sluggish and the once lovely rumble from the exhaust was gone......... It doesn't sound good.

Any ideas!!!!!

no private seller!! "sold as seen"...... the engine sound ok, no knocks or bangs. for me the compelling thing is the lack of exhaust noise. I am no mechanic but I would have said its the turbo fans have stopped spinning, this has almost blocked the exhaust stopping the noise.

my plan was always to swap the turbo for a vf35 but I wanted to do it in a controlled manner and I really want to sort out the cosmetic appearance first.
in any case I just really need to know if there anything else it could be...?

when you say "take it off" do you mean the turbo?

Is it a jdm model? Not sure if the code readers work on them. Is the engine management light on? Will it rev to over 3500rpm?

Not sure how to test it, ideally you could do with a decent known exhaust to put back on!

Would explain the sudden loss of exhaust note. I may be way off the mark, but it's the first thing I thought of!

Might be worth finding a local rolling road and get it checked,
Better then doing more damage if anything is wrong and if all is ok you have a base line before you mod.

No such thing sold as seen if you only just brought it and it's gone wrong to back to the seller,

Only bug that came with the vf34 were the JDM spec c cars.

Not sure if the standard JDM sti bug has the vf30
