Default Turbo question for gurus (gt30 a/r.60 m24)

Guys need your help.

Garret gt30 A/R.60 m24 2-1/1

Any info would be good. Don't think it's a 3076(r) as that's probably the best one but info on above needed ASAP, as to spool, peak/recommend power etc.
Cheers.

This turbo is bit small,I know friend running something similar on the S13 and on K20 too, power wise he making not sure, friend on K20 making on this turbo around 300bhp at 0.7bar and on S13 he is making 350bhp at 1.5bar

I would go with different turbo there

Thanks,Jura

Really!?
It was apparently making 380hp at 1 bar on a 2.5 engine.
I presumed it was simlar to a 3071 with a smaller housing hence good spool but limited to around 450max?

Here's the sale thread https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-par...-5-engine.html

When you are said its M24 which are pretty common eBay turbos, but this link which you are included now its different story, because is genuine GT30

When you look on the part number 700382-5003S,this part number pointing to the GT3071R and those turbo are pretty well suited on 2.0L or 2.1L or 2.5L

Power wise, not sure, but all SC42 onward using Garrett GT3071 core same core using too MDX range, only compressor or turbine wheel is different

I would suspect will make 450bhp with right boost, but what is right boost hard to tell

Thanks,Jura

Ah perfect Jura, was just quoting the numbers given, didn't know the other numbers meant anything, so yes it is the 3071 then as I thought.
Is it a .60 housing then as apprised to .76? Better spool then but with less peak power? As I know the 76 wheel give a tad over 500hp

When Garrett turbo genuine, turbo should have this metal sticker and from this you can search on which model is based

Yes that's correct, but in yours case, this turbo doesn't use 4 bolt T3/T4 housing and using standard Subaru housing(usually all companies using VF arnge exhaust housing,I think only Blouch/ScoobyClinic using their own) which will dictate spool up,bigger exhaust housing means as usually will spool slower and smaller exhaust housing will help sooner, but not will make power as with bigger housing

Thanks,Jura

This 60 A/R means is 60 trim turbo, most of the standard location GT30 using 60 A/R like is MDX321 series or ScoobyClinic and many other companies

Exhaust housing is more important than intake I would say,if housing is too big can cause lag

Hope this helps there

Thanks,Jura

Hi there

Really depends what housing is used if its used VF/TD range then should be number cast into the housing on the scroll on the back like 070 = 7cm2, 080 = 8cm2

Please have look on this thread

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1692611

On 2.0L engine I would go with 7cm housing

What turbo is this? Or where this seller bought the turbo?

Thanks,Jura
