Default Original oil filter on not?

Been on a few sites that are selling the original Subaru oil filters, but each picture is different, some say on them made in USA, some say made in Canada and others say well Japanese writing all over them

Why is this, are some original and others not?

The answer is becuase Subaru do not make oil filters.

They get other manufacturer's to make them on their belhalf, then brand and box them with Subaru logos.

The second part of this answer is Subaru do not use one sole manufacturer. they use a number of them depending on supply/demand/contracts/location/logistics/cost etc.

There is also the likeliness that some "genuine" filters you see on places like eBay may actually be counterfiets too.
