Default poor engine running / AFM? ?

Hi all. First post here. I've got a chance to get my hands on a very cheap 02 bug with 2000 jdm sti engine. However being cheap it's got some running issues. Il give you as much information as possible and hopefully some sound advice from the year of experience on this forum.

The engine, loom and ecu from the sti were implanted about 2 years ago. The lump came out of a standard car with rear end damage and ran fine at time of removal. However when fitting the motor he also fitted a large FMIC, new none standard twin scroll turbo, equel length manifold, full 3" system and an induction kit. There is also no dv on the car it's just been blanked off. It has had no mapping to support any of the modifications. The car starts and runs and engine sounds smooth and quiet however its massively under powered. It doesn't seem to be boosting at any more then 1 or 2 psi. However when you turn the AFM around the wrong way it runs very lumpy bottom end and is difficult to get moving but as soon as the turbo kicks in around 3k rpm the car takes off like a jet plane and feels like any other scooby I've been in.

Any ideas or people that may have had a similar problem?

I'm aware that the car will be in desperate need or a map after going from one car completely standard into another with several bold on modifications. But do you think there could be other problems there? It really has next to no power. Maybe the AFM, injectors? Or do you think that me getting it straight on the rollers after a good service should find / sort any problems?

Any advice or comments will be very much appreciated.

Big thanks in advance.
Tom.

I'm in the north east. Catterick. I don't really know we're to take it. If I buy the car il be getting it trailered for were it is now straight to a mapping station. I've heard of AP performance in Durham but I've not been able to contact them so far. And don't even know if they can help me with the problem.
