How much weight loss- sound deadening removal?
I'm considering removing the interior and carpets, stripping the sound deadening and then refitting carpet and seats etc.
How much weight could I expect to save? And would it be horrible to use on the road?

12kgs for all sound deadening removed from a classic. Thats just the stuck on sound deadening.
Have you ever removed this stuff before? It's not a nice task and takes a long, long, time. You have to chisel it off and then you are left with the tar like glue that you need to either use a strong solvent on or heat with a heat gun and wipe off. It takes ages to do properly.
If you are going to do it then do it properly and bin everything until you have a metal frame with a seat or two and the controls left. If not I wouldn't bother.
You could save 12kgs from lots of other places. The horns can be swapped for piaa ones, the battery to a light weight one, bin the spare wheel and cut out the metal mount for it. Bin the aircon (if you have it). Bin the aux belt cover. Delete the charcoal filter. There are loads of other bits I can't think of.
Will you notice the difference? Only in your head I would imagine.
