changing engine mounts

i have been told you can change the mounts on a gc8 with the engine still in .is there any tips on doing this .it looks a hard job

I can't see how. It'd have to be removed from its mounts and gearbox then lifted enough to get under the engine and change them.

Yes I would say it could be done, undo the gearbox mount and lift the engine with a crane enough to get in and undo the nuts on them, I wouldnt fancy it though!
