As title states really,
This is the 4th scoob ive owned but its the first turbo ive purchased
i know i was expecting to spend a few quid on fuel, but im doing £20 to 20miles
Now i know this cant be right as many people say there est at 18-22mpg with some heavy footing,
but this fuel costs is at grandad driving sorry ;(

Ive checked and striped the engine found no leaks,
ive also drove it around the block to allow pressure and had someone at home
waiting to carry on giving it some revs while i check under the tank,
i found nothing.......
so i striped out the back and removed both covers,.
found NO LEAKS AT ALL.......
checked the commen neck but guess what ----- Nothing
i also checked injectors incase it was fanning out from the seals but again nothing...

Im lost and now at wits end with this.....
Its a 95 WRX Import v2, running fgk from turbo back 3" decatted.
standard airbox green maf and baileys bov, as far as im aware its standard 330 injectors.
If i boost it and come to like a hault i smell FUEL pretty bad...
Now i expected to use some fuel but this is by far a joke.
if i put my foot down im lucky to get 14mile to £20

anything i can do or test? other then what ive done...
and please dont say guess what its a subaru lol... my bro has a bug wrx
and he gets 80miles to £20 with a little bit of footing

Just done some searching and some on other forums are saying water temp sensor
can cause over fueling?, no my water gauge goes to mid and then drops to 0 when
car is infact hot so that should be in the middle...
But i have no EML on and i thought i might of had this on as its decatted
none of the 2 sensors are in.. top is bolted up
and bottom sensor is in but been cut........

 

Two sensors one for gauge one for ecu next to each other on the cross pipe under alternator check your thermostat. O2 sensors bottom one egt top one O2 sensor it needs to be connected or you will get woefull mpg. Bottom one doesn't really matter.

As said the O2 sensor is usually the cause of awful fuel consumption.

Have all your modifications been mapped for the car? That could cause awful fuel consumption too.

 

Nope and i prosume i need another ecu to be mapped?
as its a 95 import...
changed both sensors on the crossover, just need to locate an o2 sensor sure its 19mm nut in there. its just been blanked off due to decat straight threw, its herd way before seen lol....
You both are onabout the sensor straight after the turbo arnt you...
just before the 90* bend

I'm not entirely sure but I think you will, yes.

That should be it. Either a 3 or 4 wire sensor in the exhaust as you say.

02 sensor isn't in the downpipe, it's in the exhaust manifold on an early car.

 

The o2 sensor in the early classics are located on the drivers side exhaust headers which is seen from underneath the car. They always go wrong at this age if it's still the original one.

she is running really rich.. black smoke on start up and continues on low revs, ive changed both sensors on the crossover and hasnt done nowt still the same so gonna do that sensor on the mani, just incase it is pooped.

You can alway test the output of the o2 sensor. It has 3 wires. 2 for the heater inside the sensor which are the black and red wires. They should be 12v between red and black. The other wire is the sensor wire I think is white. Test this wire with it plugged in and engine running and warmed up it should fluctuate from around 0.1-0.9v up and down around 5-6 times in a 10 second period.

Edit- another thing, have you got an aftetmarket fuel pressure regulator fitted, possibly set too high?

 

No aftermarket fuel reg that i know of..
is there a special name for that sensor as its a different size from the lambda,
but both are 21mm lugs....
