HELP PLEASE I AM STRANDED
I really need some help
I have got a MY07 sti spec D
The car is standard except a cat back exhaust.
The problem is I was driving along and then I heard a couple of clicks like relays or something electrical from behind the glove box.
After this the car revs to 1500rpm and won't drive.
Is almost like when a turbo pipe comes off on any turbo car.
I then checked under the bonnet for any obvious signs of loose pipe work but nothing. Do jiggled everything around a bit and then tried to start the car. Car started and drive for about half hour.
Then same thing again !!!
So now this is happening after every 2 odd minutes.
It does not seem mechanical more electric?
Any ideas?

I have checked the battery points
I have removed and cleaned the earth by the battery
I am sure it is something inside the car
What is behind the glove box?
And how do you remove the glove box ?

Ok I think I found the issue
A 12v relay that says ECU H/L AUTO LEV
Am I right in thinking this has something to do with the xenon headlights auto leveling system?
Why is is making the car go into limp home mode?

Would sound to me like one of the engine sensors possibly MAF or the Lambda sensor seeing as it wont idle.
Very much doubt you will be able to sort it at the side of the road and as above suspect you will save alot of time by being recovered and getting the codes read.
Hope you get it sorted mate

I dont think this is it, but the other day the battery in my key fob died, it confused the hell out of the immobiliser and suddenly all these relays started making clicking noises. In my instance only a new battery in the key fob would resolve it. Doubt it is your issue, but you never know.

Right so I now have got codes from the ecuP0607 control module performance
P2444
P0410
P2433
P2432
P0418
P1410 refer to manual
P2441
I know most of them are from the secondary air pump
What about the rest. After I connected the fault code reader it have me these codes and then when I tried to clear them it wouldn't connect to my ecu.
Think I need a new ecu?

behind the glovebox on a blob is the ECU and the alarm system, then on the engine side behind the glovebox are the Relays for the engine.
sounds to me like one of your relays are faulty, maybe open the engine bay and start and see if you can see which relay is clicking away?

Thanks for that matey
The clicking relay is definitely behind the glove box
I can hear it.
But now after having the fault codes read the AA man couldn't clear the codes as the ecu would not respond back to the code reader.
So that's making me think that the ecu relay is not providing the ecu with power. And so causing the ecu to fail.
The car just turns over but does not fire up at all now

change the relay out and see if that helps, where abouts are you? maybe a good specialist around you that can take a look.
and the AA guy might have had a Code reader that wasnt compatible (i know this because my mapper had to use 2 different code readers to grab and reset my codes, also one of the code readers told a false name of what the code was)

From what I remember the fuse box under the n bonnet had got a fuse for ecu but I am not sure if there is a relay.
That fuse is screwed in to secure it.
The car is located in Walsall at the minute.
Am I right in thinking the relays are interchangeable with others of the same spec?
Or would I have to buy one to test it?
Any help much appreciated
