Mine does the same thing, could be the temp sensor at fault

My bugeye was the other way around. It doesn't start right away on cold start but once started it starts at first crank, also doesn't start at first crank when left for 1-2 hours. I changed my spark plugs, fuel filter, cleaned MAF, cleaned throttle body, cleaned IACV, it turned out my culprit was the stinkin' fuel pressure regulator. I replaced it, and now all is good. But yours might be a temp sensor or cps.
*update: FPS didn't entirely fixed the problem. Looking at checking my FP and injector O rings.
