Default boost/ misfire issue

Hello everyone

I bought a 2000 my00 uk turbo w plate it was running perfect for about a month then I had this pulsating issue.

It has 170 on the clock the ecu is a z7 ae802

I put fresh plugs in bkr7e gapped to .6 mm, oil, filter and fuel filter. no change new maf original subaru insert made it a little bit better.
New pipework from solenoid to turbo to actuator with 1.2mm pill still in place no change.

New lambda no change. Second hand boost solenoid no change again.

I've got a boost gauge on order to check the boost and vac.

Could a bad maf foul fresh plugs?

It drives fine upto quarter throttle anything over and it pulses feels like an on off switch until 4.5-5k revs.

I drilled the pill out to 1.3mm incase it was overboost but still the same. Also reset the ecu with every change i've made. No codes stored

1 day it was driving great then the next it was like this please help me...

All sorted the brand new plugs I put in a month ago, 1 of them had 2 big cracks in the side of it... fresh plugs and it's all better

It was either me gapping them with a hammer, or tightening them up in the very cramped side of the engine...

Either 1 I was prepared for the second time, and I did the swap flawlessly

Gotta wait for my 1.2mm pill to be delivered now after I drilled it out to 1.3mm

Would an air leak cause overboost though?

And Im going to get some carb/brake cleaner in the morning and try that even though I bought a second hand 1.

Would an ebc be a good option to set the boost at 1 bar?
