1995 JDM WRX V2 BREAKING (559 RED)

DUE TO EXPENSIVE GARAGE BILLS I AM GOING TO BREAK THIS CAR. I'M SORT OF TESTING THE WATER AT PRESENT IF NOT ENOUGH INTEREST I WILL KEEP.

*IM KEEPING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND TDO5 TURBO* THE REST CAN GO

HI THIS IT STILL AT GARAGE IM PICKING IT UP SATURDAY. AFAIK THE GARAGE TELL ME ITS NOT REPAIRABLE AS THERE IS SCORING IN THE BORES?? BEAR WITH ME I WILL POST PICS ETC.. WHEN I PICK THE CAR UP.

My Scooby Breaking?

Right. I have owned the car since Feb 2012 and bought it to lightly tweak and eventually get her on the road by this year. We drove her home 30 odd miles without issue until we hit traffic and she started to spew the coolant out.

Not too bothered at that stage as no rush to get her on the road. Whilst on the drive started to get her ready for mot & tried to sort out the coolant issues. Started by new rad cap which was well naffed. Purging the system et etc but to no avail. She ended up blowing the plastic header tank too.

Fitted four pots to front, new uprated exhaust and new discs and pads to the rear. (they've done 7 miles to garage). Plus a few other bits and bobs.

January this year took her over to local scooby expert and after a little rear sill welding she got her new mot. Whilst there she had the block gas test carried out and it proved neg ????? Yet on road test it was still spewing coolant out?

Having heard of pump failure as a possible cause, I instructed garage to fit a new pump timing belt and tensioner which they did to no avail. That bill came to a total of £780.

Our plan was to then get a donor engine and deliver it to the garage so they could do a straight swop for us. That engine, the closed deck one was going to have some new head gaskets before it was slotted in and a few other seals and gaskets. That was £400 paid for the closed deck engine plus the extra parts and labour. My latest bill is another £1000.

The garage rang last week to say the closed deck is no good as she has digested water and the bores have rusted? (Not seen the damage yet though. May be able to salvage?) I was ripped off for the sum of £400 for it.

Anyway, that's the score tbh. I am desperate to recoupe some money and hopefully get myself a tidy 1999-2000 uk spec car later.

BUT if interest is low on the one I'm breaking I may well strip original engine which is now out of the car, get heads and block pressure tested. Fit some new rings, big end and main bearings. Fit the new uprated head gaskets and sling the original engine in.

Anyone who is interested. The shell does have a new mot and she is a mainly lady owned car since being in uk and is in very good condition for the year.

Not breaking her unless interest increases. At the moment you want these small parts and someone local wants the front bumper and lights. Not looking too good tbh. May have to keep her and re build my engine.
