____________________

Haven't had much luck with this poor thing, just get it past it's 2,000 mile run-in (2k to be careful as a recommendation from API, because it was destined for a track it never made it to) and silver-van-man decides he wants to be in the same lane as me at the same time as me

I was in the left lane, he was in the right - squeezed me between him and the curb, so there's rubbing damage on the right & wheel + tie rod end damage on the left. The chassis is not twisted (it would have been a Cat C/B if it had been).

This caused quite a bit of cosmetic damage, meaning Cat D write-off... so I bought it back with the intention of either fixing it up to sell or splitting for parts. I'm still not certain which to do, I'd like to let the interest swing it - if there is more interest in parts, then it'll go that way. However, if someone offers me a reasonable price for the car as it is, to save me time I would be willing to let it go complete, especially with how much I'm working lately.

The damaged bits are:

- Driver side mirror broken
- Driver side door scratched
- Driver side front wing scratched and dented
- 2x Oz Superlegeras ruined
- Bumper marked

Now for the good parts!

I went through a dozen before this example found me, really was a cut above the rest - shame its gone this way - miss driving it

Engine rebuilt ~6 weeks prior to incident by API with a couple upgrades:
- ACL big end and main bearings
- Cosworth sump baffle
~2,200 miles since the build, following API's instructions religiously
Checked it out over the weekend, all fluids as they should be (including very clear oil, good job API!), tried starting - roughly 1/2 turn more than normal and it started up cleanly, settling in to a solid high-idle. Left to warm up properly before shutting off, all the time behaving as if it had been in daily use, not sitting on my drive for 10 weeks.

Previously owned for 7 years by an enthusiast with a wealth of knowledge/experience. Everything replaced well before service schedule, including the little bits most overlook, even the gearbox oil changed every 12-15k miles (last changed ~2,500 miles ago). Most engine sensors less than 2 years old.

Well looked after & the underside is very clean.

Full Spec:

Car has all the usual parts for this model such as 13:1 quick rack, climate control, DCCD, sensible diffs, blue seat interior, roof vent etc.

Suspension:
AST coilover suspension (rebuilt 2 years ago at Powerstation)
Standard STi v5 ARBs with poly bushes and whiteline rear droplinks

Brakes:
Godspeed 330mm brake conversion based on Subaru 4 pot calipers with large pads on front
Standard 2 pot calipers on rear
Discs & pads all recently replaced

Transmition:
Front helical LSD
DCCD centre diff with close ratio gear set
R180 rear diff

Engine & management:
Exedy organic clutch
Standard turbo and intercooler
Tubular equal length headers
H&S 3" stainless downpipe
Resonator centre section + cat centre section as option
H&S backbox
PFR7B plugs
Magnecor plug leads
High flow panel filter
Bob Rawle EcuTek remap, including fitting a superior 3 port boost control solenoid
Walbro 255lt fuel pump
Oil pump pressure mod
All important ECU sensors are less than 18 months old, some much newer.
Power is roughly 325bhp.

Other:
New radiator recently fitted
SECS monitor (with blue LCD screen to match interior)
Kenwood stereo with good quality component speakers and a 6 disc mp3-compatible cd changer

I have a spare set of wheels for it that it'll be sitting on if going whole - currently still on the superleggeras, one's quite badly damaged but hasn't lost pressure.

So... 2x Oz Superleggeras available for sale too with Falken 452s with ~3-4mm rubber left. They have some minor curbing type marks, fully refurbish-able and don't actually look bad as they are.

A few piccies of the damage (taken today after being parked up for 10 weeks, 09/01/12):

Poor Oz

Is it obvious I'm not so bothered about engine bay bling? Mechanics are all that count

Even the seats in VGC:

All the following were taken pre-incident:

This one really shows off the depth to the paintwork (albeit wing + door will need to be replaced and matched to get back to this):

These still represent the condition of the sills/arches:

I can take more pics on request.

Loads of receipts available to backup my rebuilt engine & shocks claims etc... over 8 years of complete history (the folder's over an inch thick).

Offers considered - I still need to do research on what all the parts are actually worth - I have rough ideas, but you may be able to grab a bargain from me The engine needs to be the main first thing to go, to sway over to breaking as I want to leave it in-situ in order to demo to anyone interested.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm located in Leighton Buzzard.

as a guide mate, I sold 4x Superleggeras, recently refurbed with nearly new 452's on them for £350 delivered about 3 months ago so £300 for 2 is a tad optimistic.

Personally, the car looks stunning, i'd fix it. Did you get an insurance payout that would cover enough to repair it?

If the poster above takes the spoiler, I'd be interested in the bootlid depending on condition.

Can you give me a price for it and for the pass mirror? Many thanks

Looking at other prices, £150 seems right as it's the lightweight version - will include vents and scoop.

It is clear of damage.

Collection only on this though, I'm afraid - too easy to get damaged in transit.

Collection only for this, I'm afraid - been hearing its a nightmare to post!

One sold for that with pod middle of last year - https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-par...pod-180-a.html

Have already been offered £200 for the roof vent, bumper is marked - I'll get relevant pictures up and let you make me an offer. Will try taking pics tonight, but it will be dark when I'm home.

Ouch, that's less than the cost of 1 wheel :S

Fair enough, thanks for letting me know - I couldn't find any decent comparisons for these, so just priced them at what seemed reasonable... looks like I was a bit off the mark, lol.

Open to offers from anyone who wants them...

It did cross my mind to fix it & it is/was a very nice example, best (by quite a long way) of the dozen I looked at. Had been set up properly too - so drove incredibly well - great shame it's ended up like this.

I would actually be happier than splitting if someone just gave me the £4250 to do it up!

For me though, I've kind of moved past it - the insurance payout to fix it had to go on another car, so I don't have cash from that (although I could do it from salary) & I'm fickle with cars - I'm on my 7th in 14 months & want more. I've also been racing karts & more since I was 5 years old - 4WD doesn't suit my driving style. Great car, just my personal preference prefers RWD.

Plan is to use the proceeds from this to go towards a Dax Rush with a Hayabusa engine & then I'm going to be getting in to Formula Ford... so road cars are probably going to be a bit boring for me for the next 1-2 years until I pick up an E92 M3.

Not certain on the rear calipers, they're standard size - the conversion is on the front.

Would rather keep the spoiler and lid together, but if as below, someone is willing to take the lid, then i'm happy to split.

These seem to go for quite the premium!

Spoiler - £200
Boot lid - £150
Spoiler and lid - £325

H&S Stainless Downpipe, Is this a complete 3" or does it taper down to 2.5"? Also does it have the lamba hole or not?

Apologies if I've made a mistake on that one - I thought all main panels were lightened on an RA?

Still, I've seen the price this V5 RA boot and spoiler are going for elsewhere, so I believe the price is accurate?
