Not many 2 strokes that run 40:1 so even if it's a 60:1 running at 50:1 won't do it any harm just maybe a bit smokier than normal and given that the measuring "pots" are far from exact there's naff all difference between the 3 options when your refilling a 5 litre tank.

5 litres of petrol = 100ml of oil (at 50:1) ... 83ml @ 60:1 and 125ml @ 40:1

I didn't say it wouldn't be fine but a 40/1 mix by definition has more oil in the petrol and therefore more chance of oil coming out through the exhaust, all depends upon how efficient the engine is - only one way to tell.

I always assumed most recent stuff had a separate oil tank with an oil injection/pump system.

I know my old DT did & that was years ago. Although I do remember slopping the tank from side to side on my IT if had been stood a while between races to mix everything up again. If you got the mix wrong it was like the Bond car smoke screen gadget which was great for oiling up following riders visors.

You can tell how long ago by the "classic" Ford tow car.

MKI Escort if i'm not mistaken?

these used to run 50:1, 5 ltr can of super unleaded, then add 100ml of oil.

If you have more than one fuel can remember to clearly make which one has the oil in it! A dry seize, whilst at full chat is no fun I can tell you!

Nice

For info Simon when the plastic housing around the pull start breaks (which it probably will) you can buy metal cast replacements from China that are not expensive and do the job really well - had this happen on my lad's quad (ebay for the replacement) with the same 50cc engine.

Dirts are great here's my lad's 8 year birthday present this summer (as you can see it kept me fit, lol):
