Matching Green Classic & Sports Car Club Car Show & BBQ
Sunday 1st July 2012
At Matching Green, Nr Harlow, Essex, CM17 0PZ
Last years event was very well received, and we made such a good impression last year, we have been invited again and we’ve been allocated spaces for 12 cars, so lets get the names down and show off the club as best we can……. We had a good cross section of Scoobs last year, so let’s see if we can do the same again this year….
As last year, there are always last minute drop outs, so I’m looking for 15 names going down to ensure we have enough to not embarrass ourselves!! Even if all 15 all turn up, I am confident we can get them all in anyway!
Other Info that may be of interest:
For the public:
The show opens 11am to 4.30pm and is free admission for all.
For the cars/clubs:
There will be prizes in different catagories, but TBH those will mainly be for the "Classic Cars", so I doubt that a Scoob will qualify!
BBQ's are not permittted on The Green (it’s a fire hazard), but there is a Beer Stand, Tea Stand, a proper BBQ stand and numerous other trade stands.
The "Arena" area does show off a few cars to the public, so you never know - we "might" get another one or two in the ring.... Flat Eric and I had that honour last year, so maybe it’s time for some new members to have a place in the limelight!
Obviously we would need to be in place for when the show opens, so we would need to be there for 10.30am-10.45am..... Meeting place for us all like last year, will be at Hatfield Heath (just around the corner to the show) at 10.00am so not too early a start for any of you! - so we can look impressive and all arrive together…….
Last year I “think” there were actually around 27 different makes of cars on show, mainly “classic” cars (well that is what the organising club is all about so no surprise there) but also some good modern sports cars……. Including TWO Jag 220’s…… I won’t mention the AC Cobra, GT40, Masarati’s, Bentley, etc, etc…. too many drop dead motors to drool over to mention…. J There must have been roughly a couple of thousand people there last year overall………. So a cracking day out for everyone!!
Those that went last year will enjoy going again methinks….. even if they don’t have a scoob anymore… (Landies will cope well with the grass car park…. Eh Mark…)…
One of the questions to pop up last year was whether you could leave early if needed, and apart from the fact that it not easy (lots of people to thread your way through), we did see a number of owners from other clubs going early, so I guess you can, with care, so if you can only make a few hours to be with the club – come along!!

Maybe it's worth an email to the organisers asking for a more level spot this time due to some of the cars attending being quite low. Not all scoobs are setup for gravel spec.
