Where abouts in Essex you based?
People seem to like extreme scoobies in boreham, there's a place called ATM kelvaden way, I've used them a couple times and they know they're stuff, even rally a scooby or too (labour rate is around £60phr though).
There is a garage in Braintree that I use as the owner/mech both have had scoobies in the past and are very capable with the spanners.plus their rates are very good.
There's probably more places around though.

Try 01376 349401

I live within spitting distance from them so usually just walk over, no help coming from Romford though

I use a mobile mechanic to do mine, I have used him now for around 18 years or so and completely trust him.

The things you have to remember, is that the subaru is just another car, it isn't anything special 'mechanically'.

The one thing I would suggest though, use a subaru timing belt (that alone is usually £80-£100 alone) and decent oil. The rest, a decent mechanic is able to do (or at least should be able to ).

I have recommended my mechanic to a fair few people now on here who have used him, but I don't think he would do Romford unfortunately .... Unless you happened to be around the Southend area 1 day visiting a friend and get your car serviced at the same time

Thats the thing, he hasn't got a garage, he comes to you , it really is great, you don't have all the issues of getting your car to him (at least I don't , as I live near him), then going to pick it up, and because he doesn't have a garage to pay the rent/rates for, the cost is cheaper ... Much cheaper, and as I said, I trust him 100%.

I think he travels as far as about Benfleet, so if you were going to see a friend or whatever in the area, he would be able to do the service for you there.

Whenever I have a service done, I buy all the service items I want him to change as well, as I get a great discount from the motor factor wholesalers , but the Timing belt is best bought from Subaru tbh, you could get one from a spares shop, but I always think that it isn't worth that little saving to potentially have your engine go bang.

If you are interested, I'll pm his number across and you can ask for a rough price for a service ?

A mentioned above, the cambelt isnt a specialist job - I did one couple months back and theyre pretty easy. Any reputable brand belt will be fine, Gates etc.

Whats wrong with romford?

Nothing wrong with the brewery either. Plenty of cars to set the alarms off in the upstairs park. Anybody? No? Just me then
