Waiting until I get my second years NCB (touch wood) then I'll be looking for a nice classic sport. For now I'll just be driving the Saxo, browsing the forums and dreaming.

Good luck mate. The sports are a great way to start off.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

Cheers, boss. I'm 19, though I'll be 20 come next august when I'll only have to sell one kidney to be able to afford insurance.

Good luck, what Saxo do you own?

Have you considered a VTS? Would eat a sport and give a standard Turbo2000 a hard time?

It's a furio. The 1.4 8v. I'm just pretty bored of Saxos now. I was considering a 106 GTI. But it's pretty much the same as a VTS.
I got a quote for a turbo 2000 the other day for £8,000. A sport would detach me, slightly, from the boy racer image, which I hate, too.

Essexdon. I've just realised I met you at a Saxperience meet one time. You was in your red turbo. This was before I even had my Saxo.

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy your Scooby ownership. Be careful who you buy from as there are some unscrupulous 'dealers' out there

Yea that would.have been me mate. South East Saxp has gone down faster than a lead ballon, no one even seems to go on there now.

Understand what you mean by the VTS but drive one and you will love it. A friend had a Sport wagon and the pace difference between that and the S was scary lol.

Good luck with the search mate!

Wish i had started with a sport, i made the mistake of diving straight into an 06 sti at 21 years old. Was shafted £2800 for insurance, still everytime i start her up the smiles make the pain go away... Until i look at the petrol gauge

A stock 182 well driven will show a clean set of heels to a WRX in anything but snow.
Fun in impreza start at 300bhp in a classic and 400 in a new age.
Anything less and the fun doesn't warrant the fuel or running costs.

Having owned a 172 and VTS both are great cars, tins with big engines. Had a play with a friend in his standard blob WRX when I owned my VTS and there really was no much between us, need less to say he wasnt happy!

One thing though, had no probs with the Saxo in two years and 27k miles. 172 the most unreliable car Ive ever owned, within 4 months and had already spent a grand on the bloody thing.

You've almost convinced me to not get a scoob, not quite what I was expecting. My saxo's been pretty reliable so a VTS might be back on the cards.

But I've got 11 months to go yet so who knows.

best bet is to listen to what people have to say, drive the cars you fancy and then make up your own mind. Good luck with the choice Jack

I had a VTS before the Scoob and loved it. Bus does have a bit of a bad rep.

Sorry guys it's gotta be the scoob. I've driven a VTS and yeah, it's quick, but I've got my heart set on the sport + the saxo community is a dump.
