I was a Supervisor for a recycling plant so I have a lot of training in that, IOSH, behavioral safety, first aid to name but a few. I also have ticket's for 360 excavator, loading shovel, articulated dump truck and a roll on roll off although these are all in house tickets but with 11 years experience.
Before this I was a UPVC window fitter for 6 years.

I'm a pretty good plasterer as well so I'm going to be taking a 15 day course to get my NVQ qualifications then do that for a living.
Just need to sell my cars to pay for the course & pay the mortgage.

Bad times although it sounds like you are pretty practical - should have no problems getting into a trade, the few tradesmen i know all have work coming out of their ears

That's cool thanks. As soon as I've done the course I'll be in contact.

If you need a labourer than think of me. I've done some good drylining on my own house (pic's available) so I can help with more than just Labouring if needed.

CSCS would be a good idea if you want to get on main sites
Even if its only as a labourer
Also you need to be sure you want to go down the self employed route
If I hear of anything I will let you know

Self employed doesn't bother me. Been there before when I was fitting windows.
Strange though as I not worried about losing my job, just excited about leaning a trade properly and plastering for a living. Just need to get my final pay check on the 28th then I can book my course.

Here's to the future.

That's not a problem for me. I left school at 15 to work, I'm 36 now and I've only ever been out of work for a month. (Thank god) As I said before I'm not proud, I've been a bin man in the past & swept floors in a factory. I have my responsibilities the same as most. 3 kids & a mortgage will always get me out of bed in the morning.

Thank you for your comments, they mean a lot.
