Five blacked out Range Rovers heading into Southend?
On Saturday morning, very early (04.45) i was returning from an airport drop back into Southend along the A13. When i got to Cuckoo Corner/Hadleigh, i came up behind a blacked-out black Range Rover, who wasn't doing 30mph shall we say. After i overtook him, i was mildly amused that the car infront of it was a blacked-out, black Range Rover, also not hanging about. Having got past two, it became apparent that i was in the middle of a convoy of five identical cars.
It was too early/late for me to bother following them beyond Leigh, and if i'm honest it was all a bit sinister-looking, but does anyone have any clue whatsoever what i stumbled across? They obviously didn't want many people to see them at that time of morning but i just can't think of any plausible explanation for a convoy of five black, blacked-out Range Rovers heading towards Southend.
Any suggestions? Airport for a celebrity/football team? MOD? Gangland "business"?

That does sound pretty cool if nothing else. I would have liked to have seen that myself... part of the coolness is not knowing what is was all about.
If you found out it was JLS or the Wanted coming home after a concert each one in separate cars then it'd spoil it and you wouldnt feel that cool tellin ppl you saw a boy band on their way home, blacked out Ranges or not lol

Forget what you see in films mate, there are no members of any part of the MOD that cut around in convoys of blacked out range rovers. If certain parts of the armed forces want to go un-noticed, they will cut around in normal cars, looking like every day people.
Probably some jumped up, over-paid nancy boy footballers or something.

The first performance was on the Saturday afternoon so they would have been flying into Southend at silly o'clock. All the big US artists like Eminem and Riahana etc played on the Sunday.
