Whining Noise over 110 on hawkeye
Guys
Of course I done this on a private track but should my 06 Hawkeye whine loudly over 110?
everything else engine is sweet and tight?
is it normal or not, not sure how to approach garage if it aint.

Windscreen seal, wing mirrors and stiff window rubbers are common culprits
Always close windows with the door open so they get maximum seal on the rubbers, treat rubbers with baby oil
Not much you can do about the windscreen and mirrors except go faster until the noise stops

Ive recently purchased an 06 hawkeye from wales, on the drive back i didnt notice any such noises but will check it out, however i did have concerns over the noise of the brakes when slowing down at high speeds. Below 65 is fine but any more it is noticeable.
Thinking it was a set of warped discs i bought some mintex pads and discs and had fitted, broke them in gently for approx 500 miles and when testing again had the same prob. Im wondering if its just the weight of the car/friction and heat build up that is causing the noise.
Im no expert as im a catering manager so mechanical knowledge is very limited.
Any one else have this prob?

that granted, however for a road car the noise is extremely loud and forces you to have to lift on and off the brakes when slowing to 20/30 mph so as not to either damage discs, be able to stop the car and more so stop vibrations and the hideous noises created.

Sorry Jockney to jump on the band wagon but thought id share with another hawkeye owner the prob my car has given me. Spot on to drive, shame about brakes, maybe a pricey brake up grade is required?

local garage put pads and discs on but surely that is a basic job for a garage and being how simple it is, how could they mess that job up so it makes the same noises as the pads and discs it had on before?

My brakes on hawk eye where crap to be honest, me old m3 stopped better. I read the forums and got in contact with Ian at Godspeed who done me a great deal on vented discs and Kevlar pads. What a difference, I can brake with confidence.
