after working for 19 years doing my first ever "night shift". Second night tonight and not feeling to bad, bit weird though going to bed as Sarah leaves for work!!! lol

how's my luck though...yesterday left London 7:40ish, thought this would be a nice easy drive home.

traffic heading into London was pretty light compared to normal, get to dagenham on the A13 and there's a bloody crash which took me 1/2 hour to get through!!!! worse thing was the radio was saying the problem was heading into London, so i was having a little laugh to myself!!!

hello paul im on my 2nd week of nights now, about this time i do start to feel alittle tired but a few good coffees and a cigarette gets me back on track, as ive been starting at 5pm and work through till 8am at the moment

yeah im out side having catching some air as well and ment to be doing 12hr shifts but thought id get a few extra hours in you doing nights all week ?

yeah we do sunday night through to thursday night. So bit of a short weekend last weekend but a nice long one coming up need some extra cash at the mo so have volunteered to help cover our night shift for a while.

im doing the nights as no one in my department will really do it plus need the money too as been spending alot on car lately so need to pay it all back hahahaha, doing all this week till saturday morning, rest and get the car ready for the cruise saturday night if im not too tired

LOL wongy. yeah needs some bits done to my car so the extra i get for doing this will go into that fund, well some of it anyway!! lol

welcome Tony, i'm in London for work not sure i could do a) what wongy is doing or b) 8 nights of this!!! but then saying that suppose your body clock would be adjusted after a couple of nights, so 8 probably wouldnt be that bad.

welcome along tony starting to get abit of a pile of things to do at the moment so when i get some time will start going through it all if i can do it that is hahahaha

yeah body clock is used to it now its just hard trying to get it back for the weekend only to adjust it again for the next week of nights hahahha

shouldnt be to bad for me as the most i will do is 1 on 1 week off at the most, more than likely 1 week in 4 of nights is more realistic!!

my job is pretty quite, we have to open for Asian trading hours, a market we are trying to get into, so not a lot really happens.....gets a bit boring though only so much surfing you can do when nothing is happening!!!! lol

i dont mind it really as not spendin any money in the week as im sleeping most of the day and im doing alot of printing on 3 sometimes 4 printers at once if things are that busy so it keeps me awake and got the hifi almost full volume too which is good

im using digital printers for a sign firm, in the same company/department wozza used to work in, wozza got me the job here.what sort of printers does you brother use and what sort of work does he do?

Yup takes the body a few days to get use to nights, then when your sorted on them your off and your body clock goes up the shoot again

yeah it is fun and games woke up at 4am sunday and couldnt get back to sleep yeah not many peolpe want to do nights here either, dont mind really dont get disturb all the time can just get on with things paul do you think you could ask your brother what sort of printers he uses as thinking of a change here for me really ?

thats alright then theres only 2 of us here and he is working in a different department and havent spoke to him much as been in my bit all night so kind of feels like im here alone hahahaha, got to drive to southend when im done to sleep round the girlfriends house hahahaha

I'm on permanent nights, start at 7pm, finish at 7:30am. Traffic is great round London at night........normally. Good luck Paul, it takes a while to get in the swing of things. Off to bed now, got home pretty quick today, white van's are the fastest things in the world, especially when they aren't yours

I'm on nights this week, well I say nights it's 4pm - midnight so is really as coming home the next day. I have to do one in three (for no extra money than day shift) working as a print finisher. Also feels like I'm on my own as the printer who is on shift is at the other end of the factory.
We have 3 litho presses and 3 digital but they laid of a litho and digital minded only recently and their trying to cover more hrs with less staff!!!
