Question Maybe it's because I'm a woman driver, but....

...I have recently taken delivery of a hire car after my car was hit in a carpark (NOT the Scoob!)

It is an 09 Vauxhall Insignia - nice enough but nothing to write home about.

In place of a handbrake there is a button. Easy!

To release the handbrake you need to press the footbrake and press the button. Again easy!

But I was wondering, how do you do a hill start????

it holds it on the hill, take your foot off the brake and it stays on the hill without rolling back. the brake releases fully as you pull off.

Does that mean you could`nt use one of these cars to take your driving test. As surely that would be cheating the whole idea of doing a hillstart anyway.

Thanks for that - but no - it didn't stay, but instead just rolled back...
