Default engine check light on!

Driving home from work and the check light has come on.

Done a diagnostic and it's come up with code 45 - Pressure switch

Just googled it and found out it's caused by overboosting, probably because I put a decat downpipe on almost 2 weeks ago and it's surging.

It hasn't come up beforehand, probably because when the car hit around 5000RPM, it missfired. Now I changed the sparkplugs last Sunday it's been running fine again and tonight, had some woman in a vectra driving up my chuff so gave it some beans to pull away and it's been flashing on and off since.

Just as well that my brother now works with me and it's his turn to drive next week!

Best I keep it off boost until I can get it booked in for the remap

thats strange i didnt get any problems when i had it fitted mate i keep getting the engine light come on with the bug too, but it keeps coming and going every couple of days was told it might be detecting a non existant misfire by Paul @ Xtreme, still running fine so aint gonna worry.

It's probably just boost spike mate due to the cold ambient temperature (though not hitting boost cut), nothing too serious

Default Engine management light was there then gone

Had a simular experiance in the new year. returned home to gatwick to a frozen scooby and car reluctant to start after being left in the freezing weather for two weeks car really sluggish on the way back too sw london (no light though) started car next day warning light stayed on. had it checked out at scooby dealer was told knock sensor stuffed (£260) but had to order one in (did ask if it was cold temp related as temp reading on dash did not change since starting car from -4c. was able to drive car home and next day (weather thawing) started car surprize no warning light and has been for the last week so cancelled sensor. strange things these modern cars

Unmappable unfortunately.

A Simtek is probably the best option for you.

Does it stay on then or just flash on & off for about 10 sec's & then go off ?

Maybe just a bit of water ( condensation ) in with the fuel & as Paul has stated the EMS detecting a misfire , of course a S.E.C.S. Unit would monitor this & in turn tell you the fault code

Best get it in for a check up then if i was you , must be throwing a cell light for some reson or other , get it plugged in , there must be a fault code showing somewhere

i havent had these issues and im not going into what i got fitted and havent. but check all your boost pipes around the turbo. and clean the boost solinoid. may just need cleaning or a fault connector.

i have an 08 boost solinoid fitted to a classic sti and i did have this light. turned out it was a loose connection on the solinoid. as your issue is related to pressure i would definately check this area first. pipes off and give them a clean with come carb cleaner or brake cleaner
