Well you hear all kind of horror stories about photographers being stopped and hassled by the police using the anti terrorism laws but we have never had any problems at all.
The beauty of a night shoot is that there is no-one around so you can park where you like without worries about traffic wardens or tickets, no-one walking in front of you while taking a long exposure shot... you do get the drunks though
We are at the Royal Albert Hall last night, parked up illegally and lugging our photo gear around the place, we walked around the corner and there were 5 or 6 Met Police officers parked up enjoying a donut and a coffee. We set up inf ront of them and started snapping away and they didn't blink an eye apart from thinking we were mad.
As ever, be sensible, be polite and you should be ok
