the pics are quality fellas, I would imagine the royal exchange and the oxo tower plus many others along the embankment would look brilliant at night, I know they do early mornings when I am crossing the river.
Mmmmmm costco have a canon 300d package on offer at the mo.........

Thanks for the compliments on my solitary picture. I borrowed my Dad's SLR when I went to Le Mans so will see if he will lend it to me again (I only have a little Sony Cyber Shot thing) and come along.
Might be doing Nurburgring 24 hour this year
Like the Butlers Wharf picture a lot!

Another from Le Mans....
The two I've posted are the best pictures I took by miles... most of the others came out pretty rubbish.
Both taken from the Maison Blanc grandstand which are next to the Ford Chicanes (just before the start/finish straight).

double check the canon offer, it might not be a 300D or if it is then it might come with an abundance of extra stuff that would make it worthwhile. Some decent lenses would easily EASILY make it worthwhile and the 300D is still a more than capable camera. It's what I use.

Have been watching Fleebay over the last week or so as I'm considering selling my 350D and I want to see what they were fetching.. Not made my mind up either way, but as I take 25 shots on my Coolpix Compact to every 1 shot I take with the DSLR, it made me think it was a bit pointless having the 350D just sat in a cupboard, when it "could" bring some dosh in.....
Over the last 3 days, four 350D's have sold at between £267 and £291, mainly dependant on what is offered with it, so the £450 you have quoted does seem a little wrong....
Still haven't made my mind up one way or another, but for information, at least you have some price comparisons now to consider once you decide to go for it or not.

Dave, its all about what you want to photograph mate !
tough call, but if i wanted a travel camera or a point and shoot (with manual override being a must) i would look nowhere else other than panasonic or leica (the panasonic having a leica lens anyway)
DSLR is a big learning curve, but once you've got to grips with it, the possibilities are absolutely endless.
for example im just about to buy another lense for less than £100 that will enable me to take pictures like this:-
all the way down to lowlight (without flash)... like this:-
so for a small investment, i'm now effectively getting a new camera again !!
