Hiya not really sure if anyone could give me any advice regarding the value of our car, we are looking to sell but the parkers guide price seems really low as to what the cars are being advertised for on autotrader.

We have a 2006 imprezza sti type uk with the full ppp kit and lightweight prodrive wheels, the car only has 18000 miles on it and has been garaged since we owned it. not sure if the colour makes any difference but its crystal grey.

Hope that someone has some advice

the best bet is search for like for like and see what they are going for....

prices are changing daily, if you've had the car from new, get a box of tissues out

People often have quite unrealistic expectations when valuing their cars, henc the higher asking prices in Autotrader, etc, than those shown in Parkers.
However what people advertise their cars for and what they actually sell them for is usually quite different.

If I was selling then naturally I would check what others where advertising at and would price mine similarly. Word the advert well, highlighting why yours is more desirable than other peoples, low mileage, garaged, not modded, etc, etc.

If buying I would then use the Parkers as a very compelling argument when negotiating the sale price.

theres the perpetual seller / buyer conflict.

Thanks for all your advice, I cant find anything exactly the same as none seem to have the factory prodrive bits on them, I did however think that the autotrader prices may well be inflated. We are thinking of advertising for around 13k which is kind of in between both parkers and autotrader, and just slightly more than we have been offered in part exchange. The garage we went to were desperate for us to part exchange due the the car being in showroom condition in their words, I guess that means they think they will sell it for a nice profit, just that we would rather it go to someone that will care for it like we have.

Does that make it a hawkeye?

Only a mate of mine recently sold a 56 plate STi with ppp and turini alloys with many nice extra features for 16k, it helped that his was white, but his also had around 15000 miles on it.

It is very much a case of a buyers market, but if someone wants a really good example, they will also be prepared to pay. Unless your in a hurry set it at your top price and see what interest you get.

Its the last model before they changed the shape!

That was a really good price, If white ones are rare I guess that helped him. I really love the car still, fun to drive, but its just time to move on. Not in a major rush to sell it but dont want to spend loads of time advertising for an impossible asking price.

I think that is a realistic price to list it for tbh.

I would sell the wheels and pick up some £150 OEM wheels though.

In terms of listing it, the PPP is a 'Performance Pack' so stating it as a 'kit' or as 'full' would read badly in a forsale ad. 'Full' suggests more than what it actually is, not that partial fitment is an option, some people would expect suspension upgrades etc if described as full. Kit suggests 'aftermarket' which sounds nasty for a forsale advert.

I think you would see c.£13k subject to service history.

Blimey thats more than I expected but would it honestly sell at that?

I think it may have the suspension upgrade but dont know so wouldnt advertise it.

Would it really be worth selling the wheels seperatly though, they are gun metal colour and i thought they would be a good selling point on the car? they are totally unmarked.

The car has a full service history, and is being MOT'd and serviced next week.

Refurbed ? The PFF7's only came in Bright Flitter or Gold for your car. Have they Prodrive/Speedline stamped on/in them ?

yes exactly like those....18 inch with the original tyres on them still.

Not refurbed just very well looked after and never kerbed. The car doesnt have a single mark on it, and I think the back seats have only been sat in a handful of times lol

I sold my Scooby last weekend, only had it 9 months, I know I will be getting a reputation like Dave soon!! This time I wont be back in a Scooby within 3 months!! Lol

I know I was probably very lucky but I advertised it on Pistonheads (only £12) and it sold within 2 days and I put it up for more then I paid for it and more then I really thought I would get for it to be honest. Just shows its worth trying at a higher price first.

Yes probably the dealer fit option.

Well worth swapping +cash with someone to sell with standard wheels.

OEM +£300 tyre tread dependent.
£495 No offers would sell on here no probs.

I recently sold a set for £400 IIRC but the condition you describe would add another £100. Problem is if you get greedy you run into Rotas and the like which can be had new with tyres for a similar cost.
