Default New to the site and Scooby ownership!

Morning all.

Firstly congratulations on such an educational and entertaining site!

I'll be (if all goes to plan) purchasing a 2005 WRX in a couple of weeks. Got my eye on the one below.

Only mods I'll be looking at is a set of 18's (lowered depending on how she sits), Panel filter and a nice sounding end can! (Any advise would be greatly appreciated)

I did pop down to Tescos last night with my two young lads (had their toungues hanging out and couldn't believe a lady got out of the drivers seat of the Silver classic with the Graphics!!!!!!)
I would of said hello but thought better of it as what a **** I would of sounded.......Yeh, i'm getting a Scooby, nice to meet you!!!!!

Any way, without doubt, you'll be hearing a lot more from me and for sure, as soon as I pick up the new car, I'll be along to plenty of meets.

Until then,

Chao.

I was`nt there last night but I do know none of them bite. And we all love talking about our cars. You should of went over and spoke I`m sure one of them would of taken you for a spin if you`d asked. Given you a taste of a scoob. Good luck with your purchase. And hopefully see you soon.

Bless you all for the warm welcomes.

What's the average age of the ESC members. I would think I'm around the very top end of the, shall we say, Senior members with a ripe old age of 39!
I have to laugh, Mrs Footballer is adamant that I am now going through my mid life crisis now that I'm purchasing a Scooby. Certainly not I say. Always admired them, especially coming from a Superbike background knowing what cars were always going to push my riding capabilities to the limit. (Bloody Boy Racers I used to say inside me lid!)

So, is there any Garage (I'm in Rayleigh) in paticular I should be sending my WRX to, to love, care and cherish? I'll be keeping her for at least 5 years so not too worried about specific Subaru servicing, just people that know what they're doing.

My god, please forgive me for so many questions, must be the mid life thing!!

Tony.

Tony,

For servicing, I use a mobile mechanic, that way I can leave the car at home have the work done and come home without all the hassle of arranging dropping off waiting or coming back.

The Mechanic I use will travel to Rayleigh (I live in Southend), and he has serviced quite a few others Subarus on here ...... Lets face it, it is an engine with a turbo bolted onto it, so it is not necessary to pay over the odds on servicing.

If you need his number, send me a PM and I'll forward his details to you

Nate.

My god folkes,

Almost emotional by the warm welcomes I've received here. Thank you all so much.

May I also thank you for the different pieces of advice regarding several articles I have posted to date.

Probably won't have the WRX in time for the meet on the 14th, however, if you don't mind, I may show my face, so please excuse me if you find some bald headed bloke drooling over your Vehicles!!!

My midlife crisis started around the same time as yours I`m now 46 and it`s still going on. LOL
You`ll find out in time you don`t even have to have a scoob to be welcome here just once you`re in it`s hard to get away

My God!

I have to say, I'm getting a little nervous!

Is it really, really expensive to run a Scooby (Petrol stations best friend), or is the weakness in us all to open the wallet/purse for the Modding!!

well put it this way, when i bought my first uk turbo back in 2001/2 it was, apart from the wheels, completely standard...even had the standard pee shooter exhaust.

however after meeting this motley crew.....she didnt stay that way for long!!! lol

you get use to the cost of the fuel....because it is such a blast

once you meet this lot the modding bug WILL bite...so be prepared

As long as the car is well looked after and serviced regularly you should not have many problems.
