Guys,

Would a 02 plate car with 5 previous owners put you off buying?

The car has 58k with a full service history, but the fact I will be the 6th owner in 7ish years is putting me off.

What would your thoughts be on that?

providing the car is sound it wouldn't bother me to be honest. It probably will some people though, it's inevitable.

They are my thoughts but still a bit of hesitation going for it.

If you can get the previous owners details off the V5 ring them and ask them if they had any issues with the car. I did on a VW I bought a while back...

My SpecD has has 3 owners in 3 years the first 2 in it's first 6 months of life just due to changes in the owners circumstances. First one got a company car within 1 month and so the garage bought it back, second owner had it for his wife who really wanted a blue one with a big spoiler ffs ! so traded it in against a blue one with a big spoiler and gold wheels Not the cars fault. 3rd owner, me , never drives it...4th owner will have a proper nice car for a fraction of the cost.

Could be lots of reasons.
  • It's a sh1tter
  • Riddled with niggles but nothing specific
  • Looks better than it goes
  • Impulse purchase ^ as above
  • It's a Ford
  • All previous owners are called Dave ?

Multiple owners in a short space of time can devalue the car as it makes it harder to sell depending on what it is?

Button is the 2nd owner on his Veyron and he's selling it after only having covered 1,500 miles. To be honest...... I'd still have it

That was one of my concerns, the car is a ST220 so should sell on but for peanuts probably

With that car I'd be more concerned about the clutch and dmf being done rather than the number of owners. Not cheap if the dmf needs changing when the clutch is done.

As for selling, I think all cars take a hit on the price when you sell them on. Even if you buy it and leave it as it is

ST220 is a nice car though. Where's pizzza, he'll let you know how to tackle a round about at 60mph in one. Sorry I meant loose control on a roundabout in one
