Flatford Mills, Dedham, 25th July 2009 .... ESC FAMILY DAY OUT
Okay, as per my thread https://www.scoobynet.com/essex-scoo...y-day-out.html, I have worked out this date for a nice day by/on the river. The date does not (as far as the official calendar states) affect any other ESC events, so we may be able maximise on the volume of ESC'ers by the river.
Things that can be done :-
Boat hire and rowing u and down the river (costs £12 per hour from the Dedham end + £12 deposit on the boat) . Boats take upto 5 Adults or 4 Adults and 2 children, and I even saw a couple of boats that had their dogs with them (you know you want to Phil )
You could take your bike(s) and cycle
You could walk the river
There is a restaurant at the Dedham end, and a cafe at the Flatford end, both selling Ice creams etc as well.
When we went, we found parking to be at a premium, but there are various places that you can park around Dedham, we parked in the car park opposite the Dedham Boat hire.
Lots of other possibilities for those that want to do different things here also.
If there is anything I have forgotten (which I am sure there is ), please add
So, who's up for it ?
1. Nate + fam

Nate,
It's Mrs YVM's birthday 2 days before so we MAY be doing something (unless Neil doesn't read this thread )
If not then I'll definitely be there, probably my firends in the Multipla too

Have to change the date of this ......
To 25th July 2009
I have been advised that I had forgotten something in our own calendar
Sam,
The thing with Saturday is that it is not as busy as a Sunday, so Saturday's are the better day on the Weekend to go (book a day off work, I'm sure the owner will not mind )

Sorry Nate but TBH Saturday is normally a busy day for me and as Sam's already mentioned we've had a few off already for various events.
I understand where you're coming from Nate but in this instance cant we change this to a Sunday? It would make life a lot easier all round. I'm sure more peeps would be interested too.
