Default Entertainment for a teenager in the area?

Knowing that some of you have teenage kids.

I am taking my almost 13 year old nephew out for his birthday next weekend down in your area.
Can you suggest anything in the area, or reasonable drive of Wickford for us to do (that's not peter pans playground).

Thank you,

There's Bas Vegas as it's known localy in Basildon. Cinema and 10 pin bowling. Also various restaurants for something to eat. There may still be the ice rink over there too.

These may be a bit young for him but there's Tropical Wings in South Woodham, Sealife centre in Southend & Barleylands Farm near Billericay.

There's the dry ski slope in Brentwood, full size skating rink at chelmsford. Go karting at Lakeside?

My nephew is 12 going on 17, so the younger activities will not interest him, but thanks for suggesting them.

what about outdoor activities?

Stubbers do various things, sailing archery etc.

My neice has just been there and she loved it.
